Greenville, SC – In the early hours of Monday November 13, SSC experienced a fire in one of our hangars. The Greenville Fire Department received a call at 3:52 AM and were on scene by 4:18 AM . Upon arrival it was apparent that the fire had engulfed the entire hangar.
The fire caused the hangar’s roof to collapse, and the hangar was a total loss.  Inside the hangar were 4 aircraft, 2 that were in our charter fleet and another 2 that were in for maintenance.  Additionally, the fire destroyed tooling and support equipment.
Despite this heavy loss, we find reasons to be thankful:
  • There were no injuries or loss of life.
  • The outpouring of support from the community.
  • The effective firewall that protected our office contents, including vital aircraft logbooks.
  • The quick response and assistance from the fire departments that responded.
  • The teamwork displayed by all those at SSC amid the shock of the situation.
  • The graciousness of our clients upon learning of their aircraft’s loss.
  • The continuous support and prayers from friends, family, and colleagues.

“This incident, while a setback, has demonstrated the resilience and unity of our team and community. We are currently working with authorities to investigate the cause of the fire and are already resuming maintenance and all flight operations and hope to rebuild the facility swiftly,” said Doug Goldstrom, President of Sales and Marketing.“We’re grateful to the community and to our amazing and resilient clients for their support and patience as we work toward rebuilding our operations. We are committed to keeping our clients and the community informed over the coming days as we make plans and move forward.”
