Travis Thompson is the new director of maintenance at SSC. He replaces Ron Campbell, who recently retired.

Travis is an accomplished airframe and powerplant (A&P) mechanic with a passion for delivering top-quality maintenance and service to customers. With over ten years of experience in corporate aviation, Travis has managed maintenance on a wide range of aircraft, from large business jets and turboprops to small piston aircraft. He holds a degree in aircraft maintenance and has an inspection authorization (IA), in addition to specialized training in aircraft models such as the Pilatus PC-12, Hartzell Propeller, Williams Engines, and Cirrus Aircraft.

Travis’s passion for aviation started at an early age, inspired by his father who was also an aircraft mechanic. His desire to become a technician led him to work at various aviation companies before joining SSC. Travis finds SSC to be a great place to work, with a wealth of expertise on the aircraft and a dedicated team of professionals. Despite being a small company, SSC is committed to delivering big-company-level service, and Travis is excited to be a part of this culture.

He noted that the SSC has expertise in sheet metal work and electrical troubleshooting. He believes that the key to providing excellent maintenance is a commitment to safety and quality, ensuring that customers can enjoy the comfort and reliability of their aircraft.

Outside of work, Travis enjoys spending time with his family, which includes his wife and two children. He recently moved to Greenville, South Carolina, from Michigan, and has been enjoying exploring his new surroundings. In his spare time, Travis also enjoys classic cars and drag racing, a hobby that reflects his love for mechanics and engineering.

With Travis’s expertise and passion for aviation, SSC’s maintenance department is in good hands. His commitment to delivering quality service and maintenance ensures that customers can enjoy the comfort and safety of their aircraft with confidence.
