We announced back in March of this year that we were adding a Cirrus to our Air Taxi Certificate. Well, on March 29th the FAA recieved our conformity package to add the aircraft to our fleet. We all know how fast the government works to get things done and because they are so fast it only took us 130 days to get our paperwork approved to begin training.  WOW! I am looking so forward to government healthcare.  But, I digress, back to the Cirrus.  With paperwork in hand, we have been able to begin our training in the Cirrus.  Considering, the fact we have three Citation’s on our Operations Certificate, you would think the training would be a breeze.  The Cirrus is a very technologicaly advanced airplane.  The equipment installed is much more advanced then most jet aircraft flying on the market today.
With the training under way, it is easy to see why the Cirrus has become such well liked airplane. We have put the airplane through its paces during this training and its safety and reliability have proven true.  One of the most amazing features of the plane is the amount of information available to you during every phase of flight. This particular Cirrus, has the Avidyne flight instrument system installed. This system has taken it beatings over the years but still provides an incredible situational awareness in both visual and instrument conditions.
The best news is that we have our checkrides scheduled in the airplane, finally.  What that means is, the airplane should be up and able to fly air taxi flights in the next few weeks.  So, keep your eyes on our website for the big announcement.
